Essity Insurance, Claims & Loss Prevention

“Using our own system gives us the power over the information; we can control the data and perform analyses in a better way. We have control over the process and are able to follow the progression of work" - Ola Nilsson, Vice President of Risk management and Insurance at Essity.

Essity started using the INSMAN platform for insurance management already in 2007. Along the way, they have got control over their insurance needs and can now work much more efficiently with the different steps, from renewal to invoicing to handling claims.

In 2012 Essity also implemented the iFACTS Facility software to support the loss prevention work. External risk engineers still perform the on-site inspections; however they report the information in Essity’s software tool, so Essity keeps all the information in their own system.

“Since we have put extra effort into registering historical inspections, we have a great archive to use as needed.” - Ola reflects.

Traditionally, companies do not register inspections and surveys in their insurance system, which results in manual data transfer and duplication of data. As part of their solution, Essity uses a single software platform for both loss prevention and insurance management. Ola again: “Loss prevention is an important part of the insurance process. There is a need to exchange information such as risk grading, technical data, and values.”

Essity is a global leading hygiene and health company that develops, produces, and sells sustainable products and solutions in personal care, tissue, and health-related services.

The company focuses on improving people’s well-being through innovative and environmentally conscious solutions used daily in over 150 countries.

In 2023, net sales amounted to approximately 147 billion SEK, and Essity had around 36,000 employees worldwide.
