Digitalize Information Security at Region Västernorrland

"iFACTS software is modular, you can start small and grow. The software makes the work easier and the region has shortened the time for information classification by one fifth of the time spent before iFACTS was implemented. In addition to this, the requirements distributed  are much more specific within our organization than previously", - Mårten Frosth, CISO and Deputy Security Protection Manager.

Background

Just like many other regions and municipalities, Region Västernorrland previously handled its information classification through SKR Klassa. After an exercise the Region began their transformation when they realized the importance and possibilities of a GRC software that could digitalize the Region's information security work. The software needed to be flexible but at the same time user-friendly enough to be used without external intervention. Another requirement was that the software needs to be hosted internally within the Regions premise. The software should reflect the measures that need to be handled based on implemented information security requirements. The Region's CISO examined several different alternatives on the market with a clear vision of which criteria needed to be met by the system.

iFACTS Solution

iFACTS software is modular and can be delivered both on-premise or as a cloud service (with servers in Sweden). By starting from the customer's needs, iFACTS software offers flexibility through customizable portals that provide a customer-specific solution. It is possible to have permission criteria based on both individuals or groups. The system support has two-factor authentication with open APIs, which makes it easy to integrate the system support into the Region's infrastructure. iFACTS assisted throughout the implementation to ensure a smooth deployment.
